Because they have no common sense AND no sense at all.
They are cowed because he understands the magic of the internet which jumps and spins at his command!
They are in awe.
Remember, before January 1 2000, no corporation had a Corporate Technology Officer.
IMO because they’re not tech savvy, out of their league & intimidated from asking better questions.
