'Bridgerton’ meant to integrate period romances. So why is it so hard on Black women?

I love this book series. I own both the books and e-books.

I would never watch this travesty.

meant to integrate period romances.

What does this even mean?

Wait, you don’t remember all those rich black dukes and other black English aristocrats living on their estates in England in the 18th and 19th centuries? Me neither.

One of the casting people or directors said they inserted black actors...like the one playing the Queen.....because that’s “the way it should have been” 🙄

I agree. There are lots of good, factual and interesting stories that could be developed to highlight a period or a personality and would captivate blacks and whites alike.

I watched one episode of this phony thing and it was so ridiculous that there’s no need to watch any more.

I watched a few episodes this weekend. Queen Charlotte shows up at some soriee with an afro three feet in diameter. Frankly, I can’t believe I made it that far - bored to tears I guess.

“...a large female fanbase.”

So, is the fanbase large or are the females?

Or both?
