The facts are that make me continue to agree with your premi:
1. Dying of covid is not the same thing as dying with covid
2. The PCR test is highly flawed as admitted by the NY times. 70-90% are false positives. The number of replication cycles is way too high.
3. As recently reported, 89% of people who have recently gotten covid wear their mask most/all of the time
4. As the John’s Hopkins report recently showed, the average monthly deaths is in-changed...to the “surprise” of the researchers
5. If the wearing of masks was so helpful, Cali would not be surging but instead would continue to be dropping. They have some of the most restricting mandates of all of the states.
6. The practice of reporting supsequent positives (in the case of real infections) skews the number because of a afore mentioned PCR tests.

People cannot seem to understand that I can say that for some people (+80, obesity, smoking, and other comorbidities) covid can be life threatening, but that does not mean that it will kill everyone infected, nor will I live my life in fear.

Two years ago, my 79 y/o father with late stage alzheimemers slipped in the shower and broke his femur. He did not wake up right after surgery and quickly developed pneumonia and passed away...so, a shower killed my father, right?

1. Dying of covid is not the same thing as dying with covid

Indeed, for the CDC does allow for "presumed" Covid-caused deaths, plus even USA today confirmed hospitals do get some more funding for (what i call) Covid-assigned deaths.

The PCR test is highly flawed as admitted by the NY times. 70-90% are false positives. The number of replication cycles is way too high.

Yes, that is documented.

3. As recently reported, 89% of people who have recently gotten covid wear their mask most/all of the time

I read that the data showed that in a July study that of 154 survey participants who tested positive, 70.6% said they "always" wore a mask or face covering and 14.4% said they "often" did so, thus 85% of people who tested positive for coronavirus reported wearing a mask always or often. But which study is attacked since the purpose of masks is to prevent the infected infecting others, yet if the "others were we wearing a mask then the effect should be even better, since the heavier particle of an infectious person's breath are less likely to make it to the receivers.

4. As the John’s Hopkins report recently showed, the average monthly deaths is in-changed...to the “surprise” of the researchers

The death rate has decreased*, and presently there are over 85 nations (including Australia) with a higher CFR than the USA with a 1.68 CFR (CFR=Case Fatality Rate - see here for more on this - which rate is based on confirmed cases, and which are the minority of cases and have been those mostly likely to be tested and to die, since for most of the pandemic those who had symptoms were the most likely to be tested, while a large percentage of persons who test positive never developed any symptoms) Note: there are over 80 countries with a higher CFR than the USA.

As for the IFR (Infection Fatality Rate, meaning Covid-assigned deaths as a % of the estimated total infections, vs. confirmed infections) in the US, an official estimate of the estimated total infections in the US is very hard to find, but the CDC (Dec. 11) provided a figure of 91 Million Estimated Total Infections and at which time there were about 300,000 Covid-assigned deaths (figures are rounded), and which translates into a IFR of 0.33.

Then we have the CMR Crude Morality Rate(Covid-assigned deaths as a % of the total pop.), in which 355,000 as a % of 332,000,000 is 0.11%.)

5. If the wearing of masks was so helpful, Cali would not be surging but instead would continue to be dropping. They have some of the most restricting mandates of all of the states.

It seems that some places that were successful in preventing great increases of cases end up just delaying them.

6. The practice of reporting supsequent positives (in the case of real infections) skews the number because of a afore mentioned PCR tests.

Plus the vastly increased amount of testing. Hospitalization rates area better barometer.

People cannot seem to understand that I can say that for some people (+80, obesity, smoking, and other comorbidities) covid can be life threatening, but that does not mean that it will kill everyone infected, nor will I live my life in fear.

And then blame the government when relatively hardly anyone dies of Covid who is in good health, while 77% of Americans are overweight, and 42% are obese.

*More data:
