For Ham Radio operators and people with Shortwaves...
Liberty Net 3.995 Mhz 10pm every Saturday
10 pm Eastern? Pacific?
And, if anyone can suggest a very good walkie-talkie set I would appreciate advise. I’m not looking to go over 300.
Also, I saw this advise, and thought it to be excellent:
“I think it wise to have a (copper) hard wired landline phone. And all of your most important contacts tele numbers, and mailing addresses written down and stored in a safe place. Keep a list of important email addresses also. Not a bad idea to have some old fashioned paper bank checks also ( if your banking institution isn’t strictly on line).
You’d be amazed how many people don’t know how to use a landline phone, write a check, or even address an envelope.
I know these things require a little extra expense, but please try to set yourself up for the next little while. Do it quickly. 10 days.
And remember, cursive writing is like hieroglyphics to a lot of people under 30.
Things are getting squirrely as hell out there, and if you have people that you are in care of, little ones or elderly parents, you don’t want to risk losing touch or access to necessary assets.”
Can’t FCC take out ham operations, too?
Thanks, I’me looking at a C Crane unit for listening purposes.
What kind of license would be required to transmit?
Just remember, you can chat on a ham station, but you can’t broadcast. If you have a ham, licence, you know what the difference is.
