I don’t understand why he would ever have thought he would get a pardon for something he was clearly guilty of.

“Maldonado-Passage had tried to hire an undercover FBI agent to murder his nemesis, Carole Baskin of Big Cat Rescue. A federal jury found him guilty on two counts of hiring someone to murder Baskin in Florida, on eight counts of violating the Lacey Act by falsifying wildlife records, and on nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act by killing five tigers and for selling tigers across state lines. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison on January 22, 2019. As of March 2020, he was incarcerated at Federal Medical Center, Fort Worth (FMC Fort Worth).”

Because he’s gay and many gay people think they are super special
