Kelly Loeffler's ownership of the Atlanta Dream has proven extremely controversial in recent months. Loeffler, a former Republican senator from Georgia, has publicly opposed the Black Lives Matter movement and called for the depoliticization of sports. The WNBA, almost inarguably the most socially active professional sports league, has vehemently fought against Loeffler on both fronts, even campaigning for her opponent in the Georgia senate race, Reverend Raphael Warnock.
The league has fought tooth and nail to convince her to sell the team, but in the past, she had refused to do so. But now that she has lost her senate seat to Warnock, she appears to have reconsidered. A WNBA spokesman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that a sale of the Dream is close to being completed.
"As it relates to the Atlanta Dream, we understand a sale of the franchise is close to being finalized. Once the sale negotiation is concluded, additional information will be provided," the statement read.

Has anyone ever uttered the phrase “Did you watch that game last night...?” when referring to the WNBA? Anyone not associated with the league?
Member when that NBA team was sold because the owner was being secretly recorded and he said a bunch of racist things? He made something absurd like a billion dollars in the sale. Loeffler could take a huge bath on this and not feel it because she is wealthy, but she will probably end up getting paid twice or more what it’s worth.
Women’s sports are kinda on their last legs anyway most women’s sports will be taken over by transgendered athletes in about 5 years anyway
Kelly Loeffler is a piece of crap. and a LOSER. the only way to redeem her WORTHLESS self, other than drinking a bottle of drano, is to get rid of ALL her ungrateful piece of crap player she-beasts, and replace them with MEN who identify as women.
