With the advent of CGI and perfection of deep fakes, it's only a short matter of time until we start seeing movies with dead actors in unlikely scenes together.

It's not like holly weird is going to do anything original anyway, why not just employ digital zombies?

The legal hurtles would be large. I think it is more likely they create films with generic actors. I remember reading when they made Shriek they had to tone down the realism because some of the characters were too lifelike.

I think it will happen though from a cost cutting perspective of not having to pay actors and the actors never get old. It should also reduce production time for multiple takes for several actors. Also, “cartoon” actors will not do anything in real life that will destroy their market value or that of the franchise.
