Free tuition! College for all!
He’s in the top half of his class—he should automatically get into an advanced program without any testing.
Ridiculous, but just taking the movement in NYC and Boston to eliminate all testing for selective exam schools and use “other indicators” such as class rank or zipcode quotas.

Where is the help for him? I hate that this is happening to my child,”

Didn’t read the whole story. Just skimmed through it looking to see if there was any mention of how much taxpayer money is spent per student.

He didn't fail, the school failed him. The school failed at their job. They failed. They failed, that's the problem here. They failed. They failed. He didn't deserve that.”He failed, you failed as a mother, and the school and Baltimore city public education all failed.
My sister and my b-i-l do substitute teaching in Baltimore County. They say it's not unusual to have seniors in high school who cannot read or write; they have just been socially promoted through the grades.
How are such people to get employment?
This is a lost generation. And what is the solution? You can bet on it 100% that the Department of Education will need ...MORE MONEY!

To find who failed her son she should look at herself. She has three kids (probably three different baby daddies - for those of you in Rio Linda that means fathers) and three jobs. Where is the family life? Where is the father? We here at FR know the answer but they just can’t see it.

What parent doesn’t take a look at their kids grades every semester? Does she not go to Parent-Teacher conferences either? How disengaged is she? Apparently quite a bit.
