I was talking to someone who I believe is making less than $15/hr. I was surprised when he emphatically said it was a bad idea. I asked why and he said, “Because I know a lot of people who are not worth $15/hr and they would simply be unemployed.” Wow.
Goodwill used to employ lots of people who probably couldn’t have worked anywhere else. Then the minimum wage went up to the point Goodwill couldn’t afford to pay them. They are now all unemployed. (At least not at Goodwill, and, likely not anywhere.)
I kinda dig the skirt and boots. Is that sexist?
Did you read the comments on that Twitter thread. They are all mad at her for not giving people the raise. That thousands of people are going to be suffering because of her vote. That they should primary her.
There was not one of those morons who thought about how many people will be fired if it went through. Automation, price changes and reduction of workers is what happens every single time.
How can they be that stupid?
Is it wrong for me to like her?
Not agree with her most of the times...
...but like her.
It’s just a thought, but if someone wants to make $15 per hour they should find a job that pays $15 per hour.
