Just got a call from a "truck driver" from North Carolina trying to buy a pistol I listed - read this!!!
Phone call | 14 March 2021 | Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin

Okay, people on this forum KNOW by now that I tell the truth. Beware the Ides of March, one once said. I just got a phone call from a "truck driver" in North Carolina. The number is 984-302-1xxx. (Freepmail me if you want the whole number). He wanted a handgun I had posted online.

This was a black man who said he was a truck driver. His phone number was from out of state, so I assumed (correctly) that his driver's license was out of state. I told him that it was a state felony to sell a weapon to someone from out of state who could not produce a Texas driver's license.

He opened up and then admitted that he had a felony record (another worse arms violation to sell him a gun) and the only wanted the handgun for his father who lives in Virginia (straw purchase). He got both barrels from me. I told him how much hatred I have for the government and to make sure he told them so. I begin to tell him how the election was stolen and asked him how he thought all of this was going to end. He didn't answer immediately, so I asked him how he would feel if WE did that to him. He said, "I would go to war."

My response, there's your answer. He begin to tell me that the Chinese were behind the entire matter of orchestrating the election fraud (something we all know on here). I began to continue to tell him how evil the government was and he hung up. He had to be an undercover FBI agent or an informant. I tore him up with out using a single curseword (words he went to after beginning to lose the stage) and have no apologies. Folks, we can NOT be afraid of these people. They are using the art of deception to make us THINK they have support when they have NOTHING. It's log cannons on the parapets.

THEY are afraid of us, they really are.

Nahh. If they were afraid they'd be cowering behind barriers and razor wire, and be surrounded by armed troops...

I do NOT understand why we can't come together and put a complete stop to all of this.

Because Bible prophecy is being fulfilled.

...”They’ll tell you!”

Agreed. Sure bet it was a government agent trying to entrap a citizen.

"How did you know he was black?"

His voice, little accents here and there, language use, etc. Just like you can tell a Brit, southern accent etc. Practice a little ...I'm sure you can get the idea.

***********I can often tell just by the tone of someone’s voice their ethnicity. Word choice, pronunciation and expressions used...it’s not that difficult. ***********

Same here, I’ve always been able to tell. The only person who ever fooled me is a black friend I’ve known for 30 years, if I didn’t know he is black already, his telephone voice might fool me. Otherwise, I always know if the person on the other end of a phone call is black or white. As you said, minor vocal inflections, pronunciation, words and expressions they use...usually hispanics are easy to spot too, as well as asians.

After I got out of the navy I was in a bar with a couple of friends in Texas, suburb of Houston. We met an out of state guy, and one of them asked where he was from. Before he could answer I said Ohio. Blew his mind, exactly where he was from. I had a friend in the navy who I worked with every day for 2 years who was from Cleveland suburbs. I knew the local dialect well. He was from Cleveland too.

Some locations have their own very distinct dialect. Ohio, New York City has several. South Louisiana cajuns. And of course, wackifornia valley girls...lol

If you pay attention, you can even tell what section of NYC a person is from. Oh, and Boston...definite dialect there too. Hard to spell phonetically, bah’stahn...just certain words at some times can pinpoint a location. Listen to a new yorker say “car” (cahh) or “market” (mah’kit”) or “store”. (stoah) plenty of examples if you think on it a bit.

I noticed when I was a kid though, people like Walter Cronkite, Johnny Carson and many actors had little or no local accent. I never could figure out where Cronkite was from. That’s a practiced quality. Finally found out Carson was from Indiana, but not by listening to him. I learned from them, once I was an adult (but far from grown up) most people could not figure out where I was from, and were shocked when they found out I grew up in Louisiana, then moved to Texas at 17. WHAT??? No way! In the navy, out of state, I had to pull out my driver’s license quite a few times and show people a Texas address. I always tried to mimic that no dialect quality Cronkite had.

I’d be concerned about how I responded in a situation like this. As you did, I would certainly refuse an out of state sale, and probably just say “bye” at that point, and hang up. I probably would not bring up politics if I suspected a set up by some ATF twit. As another post suggested, that could result in retaliation.

I don’t have any guns for sale, I do plan to sell a bow I can’t pull any more, 45# Bear recurve, 70’s vintage. I don’t think that would draw any attention of this nature but I guess you never know. But if anyone were to ask, I could be completely truthful and say no, I have no guns for sale. Local or otherwise. I do hope I’m being overly cautious though...

Your first response would be to ask him for his nearest FFL dealer to ship it to.

I’d hang up on you, too. Based on the story you tell you sound psychotic.

I did not post this to sell a gun. It was posted to expose government corruption.

Usually the federales are much more subtle about entrapment. Maybe mumble something about a minor trouble with the law without mentioning it was a felony and leave it up to you to understand that he just admitted to a felony record and was a prohibited buyer. Just like when they entrapped Randy Weaver by having him cut a shotgun barrel a quarter inch shorter than allowed. They wanted a 17 3/4 inch barrel, not shouting that they wanted an illegal 12 inch barrel.

I told my parent’s plumber in Phoenix he was born and raised within 5 miles of the Brooklyn Bridge, New Jersey side. Freaked him out.

Another guy, I told him, “Philly”, and he said, Sure, but which SIDE?”

Bouncer at the casino near Seattle? “Bronx”. “How’djew doodat?”

Cashier in Tacoma claims UP Michigan, but he’s in witness protection from Jersey and hates it when I say so.

I wonder what the used gun market looks like. Must be a mix of folks looking to take advantage of the seller’s market, and those looking to dump guns that may make them felons in the near future. If agents are out there making calls, someone is gonna get nailed.

“Brooklyn Bridge, New Jersey side”

How does that work? The Brooklyn Bridge goes from Brooklyn to Manhattan by spanning the East River & never touches Jersey. Perhaps I’m missing some important point of linguistic geography.
