My family and I celebrated by having pie (key lime) at 1:59 and followed up with pizza for supper—I wearing my Pi Day shirt of course.

Kate Bush has a song called PI from her Ariel album (CD) - she She actually sings the number to its 78th decimal place, then from its 101st to its 137th decimal place.

As only Kate Bush can.

Today after early worship our family group went to Cracker Barrell for Brunch. A placcard on our table featured Buttermilk Pie. Never heard of it. Prolly a deep south treat. Since it’s Pie Day I ordered a slice to go. Had it for dessert a bit ago. Not bad. A mite sweet for me. I like plain old egg custard better; whether in a pie or just in a custard cup. But it was a fun experiment on Pie Day.

And, off course, it is not yet pi hour, pi minute, or pi second ...

3.14:159265358979 ?
Well, then, 15.9265358979 hours = 15:55:59.215387
(Or 3:55:59 and a few seconds in the afternoon.)

BUT! Daylights Savings Time? Greenwich Mean Time?
Which longitude? (15 degrees per hour, ya know.)

Nah. As engineer, we memorized to 15 digits. Same with square root of 2, e, nu, Avogadro’s number, bunch of others ... Never bothered getting real accurate with the speed of light though. 186,000 is close enough.

Kate Bush - Pi

This song was also covered by Anne Sofie Von Otter.

I believe Sinead O'Connor might be coming out with a version as well, I would look forward to that as Sinead has a nice Irish voice.

Thanks for the reminder, it’s been a while since I last made a pie. New York Grape Pie is one of the best.
