To be fair, Lil Nas X didn't make race an issue...others did. The video for "Old Town Road" is very cool, and the saga of a gay black guy who samples NIN to write a country rap song should be heralded as a quintessentially American success strong. Only here could that happen..in other countries, he'd be suppressed or marginalized.

Why are people so upset? If you don't like, pick up a guitar and write a ground-breaking song yourself.

Along those same lines, Lady Antebellum won the Grammy for Woke Jackassery last year with their name change stunt AND how they mismanaged the situation with the REAL Lady A (who is a zillion times more talented).
