Gene Simmons is done with the Golden State. The Kiss rocker has announced his departure from California after more than 35 years.
“We are moving out of L.A. for a number of reasons: one of which are the tour buses,” Simmons explained to the New York Post. “After a certain point, we have had enough of that, even though we appreciate the attention.”
It’s not just the tourists that have gotten to Simmons. The rocker listed “earthquakes, fires and pandemics every year” among his further reasons for moving.

Instead, the Kiss bassist will now reside in a 12,000-square-foot mansion in Lake Tahoe, Nev.
“The quality of life is better there, so we can go hiking without bumping into people,” Simmons declared, adding that the concept of a “quieter life” attracted him to the locale. Another reason for Nevada’s draw? The fact that it has no state income tax. “Taxes there are also much more appealing,” Simmons admitted, adding that California’s taxes had made the state “inhabitable.”
This isn’t the first time that Simmons has announced his displeasure with California. In October 2020, the rocker proclaimed he was leaving his affluent Beverly Hills suburb because tax rates had become “unacceptable.” “I work hard and pay my taxes and I don’t want to cry the Beverly Hills blues but enough is enough,” the Kiss icon declared at the time.
Simmons put his Beverly Hills mansion up for sale last year at an asking price of $22 million. Since then, he pulled it off the market, performed a series of renovations, and relisted the property at $25 million.
You can go to your new destination and rent a truck there. Would be much cheaper. My co-worker son just did this from the San Francisco Cali area. He said his sons family saved $1500 to move to Oklahoma City.

She was driving into work one day and stopped at a Starbucks, and as she walked in, there was a huge limo blocking the front door, and she had to walk around, and began bitching to herself about the inconsiderate person who had parked it there.
So, she walks up and stands behind a guy who just gave his order, and the woman behind the counter gives the guy a coffee cup and instructs him to write his name on it, and my co-worker rolls her eyes and says to a person standing nearby “Geez...now we have to label our cups ourselves...?”
So, while the guy is waiting for his coffee, he is eyeing the glass case with the various pastries in it, and turns to her and pointing at a pastry says “Are these any good?
She is irritated because the guy’s order is taking so long and she has to get to work, but she shrugs and says “I don’t know...never had one.” He looks back, and pointing to another, said “What about these?”
She said politely “They are all probably pretty good.” (as she thought the guy. was so thin, he should get one of everything!) As he is pointing, she notices this enormous, giant, diamond encrusted gaudy ring he is wearing, something she thought a woman would wear, and he was a small, petite guy, so the effect was odd and she said “Wow. That’s a really nice ring!”
He said “Would you like to try it on?” as he removed it and handed it to her. She was a little nonplussed, but took it and put it on, then held out her hand out to admire it. She handed it back saying “Maybe I’ll get one for myself someday!”
He said “Maybe you will!” as he grabbed his coffee and pastries and walked out.
As the woman stepped up to to place her order, she good-naturedly asked the person behind the counter “Am I going to have to sign my cup too, like that hippie guy?”
The woman behind the counter said “Don’t you know who that was? That was Steven Tyler!”
Simmons and Shannon Tweed have been together for a long time...They have two kids...They finally got married...
Shannon Tweed was once a Playboy Playmate...She has also been in many movies...Movies which you might see on Showtime or Cinemax at night...

I am a life long California resident and agree with you 100% about liberal Californians moving to other states and then destroying them. Liberalism is a social / political disease.

KISS IS PROBABLY one of the most pro America bands in rock. Paul Stanley plays for vets at Walter Reed without them asking for it.

I was never a KISS fan but I loved their stage dress and antics. Even bought some trading cards including much of the “KISS” set. Nice piece of “Musique Americana”.
Love Shannon Tweed. One of the most beautiful women around and her Playboy Magazine cover in a spectacular purple dress was a photographic work of art and sensuality.
Their kids were fun to watch growing up on their TV show.
Simmons is a proud Israeli-born American esp. after what his mother went through in the Holocaust.
I suspect that some covert anti-Semitism was a factor, probably a minor one, but enough to push him over the edge re getting out of California. It’s there through the far-left voices of a handful of communist musicians/singers who are viciously anti-Israel (i.e. “anti-Zionist imperialism” but it doesn’t make the news. Wonder why?
PS: He was also a very sinister villain in a movie with Tom Selleck about robotic ammunition, etc.

Geddy Lee from RUSH had an interview talking about their early tours opening up for KISS. He said something like “Well, say what you want about their music - but they put on a heck of a show - EVERY night. And they put a lot of work and effort into making sure each show was great. That was very instructional to us as a new band.”
