Major League Baseball is scheduled to play its 2021 All-Star Game this summer at Truist Park, located in Atlanta, Georgia. Yet with less than a week to go until Opening Day, the MLB Players Association appears open to discussing whether or not the event should be relocated in response to recent legislative developments in the state.
MLB Players Association director Tony Clark told the Boston Globe that the union body is "very much aware" of the bill signed by Georgia governor Brian Kemp on Thursday that overhauled the state's election laws.
The bill includes "new restrictions on voting by mail and gives the legislature greater control over how elections are run," according to CBS News. It has been opposed by both Democrats and voting rights groups who believe the law will "disproportionately disenfranchise voters of color."
Clark told the Globe that "we have not had a conversation with the league on that issue" before adding that "if there is an opportunity to, we would look forward to having that conversation."

Major League Baseball is thinking of boycotting Atlanta's All-Star Game after Fulton County literally threw three elections last year into the Democrat column with vote fraud? All because the legislature and the governor signed a law to limit fraud. Is that correct?
Sure, boycott Atlanta and Georgia. They deserve it after what happened in 2020 but MLB wants to boycott for 100% the wrong reason. Then again, baseball proves annually (All-Star Game, Hall of Fame) that they don't know the first thing about a fair vote.
I’m glad I said good-bye to MLB!
As if there aren’t already enough reasons not to watch MLB.
Never watch baseball so I can’t boycott it
Famous Georgia saying: Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.
Following the NBA model. Don’t watch that those 10 mins of action squeezed into 3 hours.
People should boycott the braves
Who gives a shi...er...Dorkbama?
Bless their hearts!
No one is allowed to go to it anyway, so who the heck cares?
Usually cities vie for the opportunity to host these events years in advance. Obviously because there’s so much that goes into hosting them, from a logistical and public safety stand point?
If I’m not mistaken, New Orleans was the only city that put in for the 2024 Super Bowl. Lots of cities don’t want the hassle and pay out the overtime anymore. With terrorism still very much on peoples minds, as it should be, the amount of money paid out to cops, firemen, etc far outweighs the money generated from hotel taxes and licensing fees.
For what? A few days to a week of nonsense.
So, if the MLB wants to pull out, I’m quite sure the folks of Cobb County aren’t going to be mad. Hopefully they can take all the liberal movie folks with them.
Baseball fans open to discussing a boycott of 2021 All-Star Game.
Let MLB play it anywhere they like. I stopped watching all pro sports a few years ago. Of these I miss baseball the most. I will not watch any MLB games again this year. The way these Pro organizations are going I will probably never watch another game of any type, ever again.
MLB was heading in that direction anyway, especially if the National League adopts the Designated Hitter rule permanently. It’s the equivalent of using a free throw shooter to substitute Shaquille O’Neal when he goes to the free throw line. Anathema!
Let’s just kill two birds with one stone and add the President to the All-Star Ballots.
a dozen people are going to tell us that they cut the cord 10 years ago, and have never been happier.
When only the approved people are left on the earth they themselves will become OBSOLETE! Gave up on all sports many years ago. I am will not submit to tyranny.
MLB can shrivel and die with the rest of the pro sports.
Is the MLB Players Association nothing more than self-centered Democrat thugs?
Do they understand that they are protesting against voter integrity?
How well do sports teams do in socialist governments?
What do they think that they are accomplishing? Introducing "social justice" has resulted in greatly diminished interest and attendance at sporting events.
This “story” is completely bogus. All it says is the Players Association is “very much aware” that the bill passed, and that “we have not had a conversation with the league on that issue.” In no way does it imply anything more.
This article is like a journalistic “push-poll.” Trying to raise an issue that hasn’t been raised yet.
I read there are planned boycotts of
products made in the state and TV/film productions may go elsewhere. I think
Family Feud is taped in the state.
There were calls to boycott Coca Cola
whose HQ is in the state (be less
white, folks)...though I think
a relative of Dr ML King said boycotts
would only hurt the poor/working class
of the industries.
Boycotting due to state law: the
original mini series of The Stand (1994) filmed “Boulder CO” scenes in Utah or some other place to protest Colo. anti-gay laws.
Stephen King’s daughter is a lesbian.
