It will premiere in Summer 2021 and will consist of 24 episodes
and will also be the final season of the series.

Filming for the eleventh season began on February 9, 2021.

This season will be mainly based on “Volume 30: New World Order”,
“Volume 31: The Rotten Core” and “Volume 32: Rest In Peace” from the Comic Series.

Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) and Melissa McBride (Carol Peletier)
have signed on for a further 3 years,
indicating that both will appear in this season.

Lauren Cohan (Maggie Rhee) is confirmed to return as a series regular this season.

The first half will air in 2021, with the second half following in 2022.
