GRETNA, La. (AP) — A former sheriff’s dispatcher in a suburb of New Orleans has been arrested, accused of refusing to return more than $1.2 million that had been accidentally deposited into her brokerage account, authorities said.
Kelyn Spadoni, 33, was taken into custody Wednesday on charges of theft valued over $25,000, bank fraud and illegal transmission of monetary funds, nola.com and WVUE-TV reported. The reports said she was fired by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office after her arrest.

Spadoni had been with the sheriff’s office 911 center for 4 and 1/2 years.
She looks like she bought some damn fine weed with some of that money.
Take the money and waddle.
Spadoni takes pressure off of Florida woman.
She figured the Reparations check finally came in.
She doesn’t look Italian.
Her letter from Botswana wishes them well and includes a statement on non-extradition from her attorney. Like Bob Dylan said “Don’t look back.”
Botswana, in Southern Africa is “One of the safest countries in Africa and travelers might only encounter petty crime.”
It would be interesting if she invested it and made 50,000, then gave it back when they asked.
hahaha
She entitled to it, mo fo’s
She really doesn’t have the “savvy investor” look.
LOLOL!
Maybe from southern Sicily?
“In Sicily women are more dangerous than shotguns.”
She ain’t no wheres’ t’aaard!
Honestly, I don’t blame her.
If the bank had accidentally CHARGED her an overdraft of that amount she’d have to fight to clear her credit.
Unsympathetic character though she is, I wonder if this shouldn’t be a solely civil matter.
She did not make the error.
It’s her money now, and she should keep it.
