I was coming off a day of surf fishing with my Dad in his car on the way back from Jones Beach.
He passed away 20 years ago next month.
Today would have been his 105 birthday

Thanks to SA76 for the thread and although I went right back to hearing it for the first time, thanks to dfw for making me dwell on it and remember today is his birthday
First heard this as a 12 year old kid “camping out” in the summer of 1969 with my cousin in his backyard in San Diego. We had a little transistor radio with us and the song was being played on the local radio station for the first time. We thought it was funniest thing we ever heard and speculated what the bleeped out word might have been. We also woke up with chiggers from sleeping on the grass under our makeshift tent. Good memories.
