WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Rep. Scott Peters (CA-52), Rep. Mike Gallagher (WI-08), Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-18), and Rep. Peter Meijer (MI-03) re-introduced the bipartisan, bicameral Workforce Mobility Act to help American workers by limiting employers’ ability to force employees to sign non-compete agreements.

I think it's unfair to basically cut someone off at the legs while they try to earn a living in the same field. If it's what the former employee does for a living so be it, let em work for or start their own business.
I have emailed my representatives to try and gin up support for this bill. I urge yall to help the millions out there to email yours as well. If you're a business owner afraid of competition, I'd have to say you're not very confident in your business model.
How about helping American workers by ending OPT and H-1B?
Yes, end all visa programs and cancel existing visas. Send all of those former workers home.
Some companies try a lifetime, worldwide ban. Not enforceable (but some have been upheld)
In most cases, it’s 6 months in a very limited geographic is enforceable
Well that’s a no Brainerd. Unfortunately both sides of the aisle love the visa program and the illegals.
In a construction related field seems ridiculous to me though as far as non competes are concerned.

Right… never gonna happen. There are 8.1 million menial labor jobs for Americans to fill.
Americans don’t deserve to work in skilled white-collar and blue-collar work anymore, according to most politicians.
Remember the only one that was pro-American was Trump. All Congressmen and Senators absolutely love the Cheap Indian and Mexican Labor Express.
I love your appropriately cynical attitude.

Worked on a project a few years ago for the Dubai government to do a camel racing game. They demanded I sign a non-compete not to use any of the code I developed for that game for a period of 10 years (as a developer you have many libraries of code you develop), or to work on any other racing or another other game that uses IAP, shops, ads, leveling, multiplayer etc.
I told them a flat no.
Good for you. I won’t have my employees sign any non compete. There’s enough business in all fields I believe for everyone to be able to earn a living.
Non-competes are already narrowly construed and almost never enforced as is. How much does this actually do? Mostly, they are a negotiating tactic.
