I was in Berlin when the wall came down.
Spent an afternoon at Brandenburg Gate watching families reunite.
Spent it just sobbing.
Or the fact that he had just realized that everything he had been told for his entire life was a lie.

I think that the name Walmart is just another term for a hyper store.
After Europe began changing their “union rules” (an interesting series of events), Walmart opened stores around Europe, where allowed. Not making their targets they sold out to competitors.
When everyone travels to the next province to shop in a big box, your sales tax revenue trends downward and you start thinking about your local “union rules”.
Now Europe has plenty of hyper stores.
I know a man who does occasional mission trips to Cuba. He tells me he could leave his wallet on a bench and come back later it would still be there, because people are so terrified of the police.
But the real danger is falling buildings. He said almost every trip he sees a building in Havana collapse from disrepair.
That is very touching. So many Americans do not understand how fortunate we are. And how hard so many had to work to make it this way.

Republicans and Conservatives always have (or until quite recently had) the highest registered and voting rates.
Also, the 1960 Cubans have three generations of voting age families, and, they arrived in one giant block spread across less than 10 years.
Except for the Mariel Boatlift in 1980, Cuban immigration has been much more subdued and spread out over the last 40 years.
Wow. It’s kind of eerie, but my son-in-law was at Walmart today, and the bread aisle looked like the Cuban markets. Ditto for the bath towels. What’s the deal? Is the US really turning into just another socialist dump?
That’s amazing. You really were a witness to history. It was a great day.
