It might be possible to have an E-card that can travel 1,000km. However, at least at current technological limits, you can’t have a car that will travel 1,000km and charge up in about 7-8 minutes, the time it takes to fill a diesel truck that will travel 1,000 km.

I can go ~1000 miles in 14 hours with a gas car. Tesla routes an EV taking 18 hours. That counts as well under a day.

I’ll only drive gasoline cars for the rest of my life. No electric to travel for me. My dryer, yes, my auto, NO. My travel my choice.

I occasional need to go 800 mi in a day, towing a trailer with a total trailer weight of ~ 7,000 lb.

Will the Tesla truck do that? The new Lightning?

Of course it can. There are trucks specially designed to pull trailers with several cars on them.

In a perfect world, no one is plugged into the charger ahead of him.
Otherwise its a two hour wait till its his turn

He charged about 24 minutes every two hours.

Not too bad if the charging stations are there.

Copper studded tires and roadbed smart cables would let electric vehicles travel indefinitely. As the USA electrifies its energy distribution, more power lines need to be constructed. They might as well build them in the diamond lane road beds.

Also ask how many people and how much luggage they can handle.

Of course, cars have been too small for decades now, for a truly nice vacation drive.

I am personally not anti-electric anything.

But I am anti-government subsidized electric with no infrastructure in place to support inferior technology.

I would have no problem purchasing an electric car tomorrow. But not an inferior one because environmental cheese dicks want to force me into purchasing one against my will.
