Vice President Kamala Harris shared how she has a personal stake in encouraging people to defy expectations while offering career advice to others.
The Democrat spoke about not allowing others to define one's limits, particularly for women, during an interview with MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski.
“I eat 'no' for breakfast. So have I been told many times during my career things from ‘oh, you are too young. It’s not your turn. They are not ready for you. No one like you has done it before.’ I have heard all of those things many times over the course of my career, but I didn’t listen," Harris said, echoing comments she's made previously.
"And I would encourage anyone who has been told that, whatever their gender, to not listen, because again, don’t be encumbered by the inability of others to see the potential of who you are," Harris added.
The comments appeared in a clip of the interview that is set to air Tuesday on Morning Joe. Brzezinski introduced the clip by saying that in the interview, she and Harris “discussed how the administration plans to get American workers back on track, particularly women" and noted the vice president "also shared her advice to women embarking on a career. This is what she tells those she mentors.”
"It’s really important to recognize the limitations that other people have based on their expectations and to not impose that on one’s self," she said.

Came for the laughs. Wasn’t disappointed.

I can not stand this woman. It is an embarrassment to acknowledge she is human and in some type of leadership of the country I was born in.
I think she tried that.
That’s not all she eats.
She got where she is by stealing votes. Pride goeth before a fall.
