Senator Chuck Schumer over the weekend referred to mentally disabled children as “retarded.”
During a podcast interview regarding public housing, Schumer said: “I wanted to build when I first was an Assemblyman, they wanted to build a congregate living place for retarded children."
“The whole neighborhood was against it, these are homeless kids. They just needed some help.”

As much as I despise Schumer, the word “retarded” is just fine. It’s what sane people used to call retarded people. Now, calling them “retards” or “tards” isn’t very nice... I reserve those terms for democraps. :)

“Retarded” is a perfectly fine word, but apparently no longer politically correct. In French, where I imagine the word comes from, ‘en retard’ means ‘late’. It’s as if the left truly believes that changing the word takes some of the sting out of reality and they seem to do it all the time. In my town, the ‘Alternative School’ changed its name to ‘The Academy’. Doesn’t fool anyone or really change anything.
