A brazen shoplifter was caught on video stuffing items into a garbage bag inside a San Francisco Walgreens and then pedaling off on his bike — in front of a security guard who simply recorded the theft on his phone.
The shocking footage, posted on Twitter by KGO-TV reporter Lyanne Melendez, shows the unidentified thief filling up on stolen goods as two people — one apparently a security guard — stand in the aisle with their phones out.
The crook then hops on his bike and pedals past the pair, with the guard making a failed attempt to grab the bag before the man bikes to the automatic front door and takes off.

This is really ordinary now out here.
Wife recently watched as two young women in their beach clothing walked into Safeway, picked up a case of beer each, and just walked out. Never stopped chatting with each other, like it was perfectly normal. No one did anything to them.
Paying for stuff is so yesterday.
And people complain about “food deserts.”

They will have to do this in virtually every state.
Because these problems are exponential in all urban centers - of every state, save perhaps the northwest/central mountain states.
I don’t think shoplifting (under a certain dollar amount”) is even prosecuted in San Fransicko. The current DA is a radical leftist.
This how the mayors/govs and their DA’s reduce the crime rate in cities like Gay Frisco or Chicago.
A Louisville Slugger Bat could have easily stopped that crap.
Walgreens has a “don’t chase” policy. The Walgreen’s near our house in Phoenix was at a premium location just off I-17, and it was shutdown due to shoplifters from the Greyhound station across the street and was last used as a CCP Virus test center.
How can it be “shocking” when it occurs regularly?
They will catch him later with the video evidence. At least they didn’t shoot him or beat him him to death for it.

No prosecution of shoplifting below $950, IIRC.
Stores need to price everything at $951 and offer enormous discounts with their customer loyalty cards. That way every shoplifter is a felon facing years in prison.
