SURFSIDE, Fla. - A top Miami-Dade fire official on Saturday told family members of people missing in the rubble of a collapsed condo building that demolition workers planned to bring down the remainder of the building on Sunday.
Worries have intensified over the past week that the damaged structure could come tumbling down on its own, endangering the crews below and complicating the search for victims.
Fire Rescue Assistant Fire Chief Raide Jadallah told family members during a morning briefing that the building would be brought down “as soon as possible. First thing tomorrow.”
But he cautioned that there “may be some hiccups.” A follow-up meeting will be held in the afternoon to finalize details of the demolition, which could be a precarious operation as experts enter the building to bore into the structure to install explosives.
Concerns that the still-standing portion could tumble have curtailed the search in areas close to that section, and shifts detected by monitors early Thursday prompted a 15-hour suspension of the entire search until engineers determined the site was safe to restart.

Will they allow people to go back in and retrieve belongings?
I read that they have announced that residents will not be allowed in to retrieve belongings. They say the building is way too unstable to allow folks in for any reason. Sad, but I understand the concern.
From orbit would be best.
And here comes a hurricane.
How are the authorities going to do forensics on the collapse if they demolish the building?
Or, what if the hurricane does it for them?

Take both towers down and make the site a memorial park.

Just saw on a local tv station’s twitter that 24 bodies have been recovered, and about 120 are still missing.
The government destroying the evidence that they imploded the first part of that building.

This intentional dropping of the remaining structure will cause it to drop in place and have no affect on the original pile of debris. There is little or no “forensic” data that will be lost in this action.
All they need to know is under the S Towers initial collapse.
If the storm were to come in while it was still erect, no telling which way it would fall.
This is a smart move

If the Deep State doesn’t want Desantis you might be a bit nervous if you live in a Florida high rise.
