Uh, no, Apple does not sell or market using your data, except for its own Apple products. Apple sells hardware and a little bit of high-end software. You are their customer, not their product.
Apple wasn’t making money on those ads. The ad developers who sell the 3rd-party apps were/are the ones making the money on ads.
There’s a reason Facebook is losing its mind over the anti-tracking features Apple has implemented with iOS 15 and that reason is it’s KILLING their ad rates because they can’t track the users anymore. Advertisers won’t pay a premium unless the app can provide solid analytics on the users.
Google gets people at both ends because not only are their own aps ad-supported. But, they’re also the ad company.
