I can’t help but wonder how many people are diagnosed with hypertension erroneously.

Whenever I go to the doctor, dentist, or ophthalmologist, they say I have sky-high pressure. Even though I have no feeling of anxiety, it always reads high in those settings.

But at home, my blood pressure is perfect. And no, the machine is accurate. I’ve checked in the doctor’s office with my machine in front of him and showed him the memory with the at-home readings LOL.

If you wear a tight belt, your blood pressure can shoot up.

It might be possible you don't wear tight clothing at home. Additionally, it could be you drink a lot of caffeine to get going.

It could also be white-coat hypertension.

My blood pressure is lower at home. I am taking Lisinopril but would prefer not to due to side effects. I am pretty healthy and active. I don’t like prescription drugs. They tend to over prescribe when there are over the counter or other ways to treat. It is all about the money. They kept trying to over prescribe for my mother when in the nursing home.

BP tests are usually higher inside the doctor’s office than outside. Weird.

Having high blood pressure doesn't always mean anxiety accompanies it although it can. Recently my wife's bp was 170/93. Both numbers were bad, especially the diastolic. Anytime you have a diastolic number in the 90’s that's bad.

She takes medication for it, Valsartan but I gave her one of my 0.5mg Xanax and in about twenty minutes her bp was 130/64.

I have a pacemaker and take Losartan and Xanax when I need it.

I don't have any bp problems now a days.

Just out of curiosity what are your bp readings?
