An Arkansas judge on Friday temporarily blocked the state from enforcing its ban on mask mandates, AP reports.
Driving the news: Pulaski County Circuit Judge Tim Fox issued a preliminary injunction against the law signed in April by Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson that banned governmental entities from implementing mask mandates..

Good cop, bad cop routine.
The system is fundamentally broken.
Our rulers can do whatever they wish and promises mean nothing.
No surprise here with the legislature backing away from not repealing the ban this week I knew something dirty was coming today.
The judge’s order does not surprise me. The judges do the bidding of the Establishment when the people’s representatives are afraid of the people.
Let’s see.....State Legislature passes law (Read Mandate) and judge over rides the legislature. Something is wrong here. Oh wait! Governor Asa said he was sorry he signed the mandate. Guess that was all the judge needed. What a country!

It’s all outcome oriented. If the order had been opposite, it would have been upheld.
America looks like India: Socialist, one-party government offers up a ridiculous across-the-board edict. Then CDC, Local Courts, Federal Courts, Congress, City Governments, State Legislators and local Sheriffs all get their say and interpretation. Then its all filtered through corrupt media.
Waiting for fed-up peasants to burn down a government building somewhere to make our transition 3rd world government complete. Oh wait, sorry. BLM did that last year.
Thanks for the link. That’s your site? I like it!
“Citizens Block Judge from being an ASS!
What the hell is it with these second wave mask mandates?
Masks do not protect you or anyone else.
You might as well be wearing one of comedian Bill Engvall’s “STUPID “ signs.
Here’s your sign, Judge.
My attempt to create a more traditional news record of each day since news channels either do one big story and overkill it and or offer up continuous opinions and debates.
I do a different kind of post Saturday plus special posts like the ones on the protests in France every Saturday (Yellow Vests).
They are now demos against forced vaccination and vaccine passports.
Enough people simply disobey any mandate from the government, the mandate will fail. They simply cannot arrest everybody, and one thing politicians are very good at is counting..
Why hasn’t gop done this? Dems pass a law or regulation you don’t like, just get a conservative judge to block it. Are there no conservative judges??
Asa’s buddy Judge.
No standing for this pissant county judge. Ignore them.
Our side has to go full Andrew Jackson on these lawless robed tyrants.
Or full Stalin ‘How many divisions does the judge have?”
It seems to me that if you have both a conservative governor and a fairly conservative legislature, like in Texas or Florida, there is not a problem. Ridiculous rules being ordered by the federal government in those jurisdictions get tossed out pretty quickly once some evidence comes in and the practical outcome of a particular policy becomes evident. After all, this is a federal system - this is not Europe where the central government issues edicts on everything because that’s how the country’s system was designed.
The problem arises when you have a lukewarm Republican governor or a lukewarm legislature, or both. In order to have people like that elected, particularly majorities in a legislature, you have to have a state that is, in reality, much more purple than it appears when you have (nominal) Republicans in the highest positions. That means that over the course of time, very few actual conservative or originalist judges will get appointed, and when Democrats are the governor, ultra-liberals will be nominated. Thus, in these actually purple states it is easy to find judges (even randomly, without forum-shopping) who will override weak-kneed Republican governors who probably didn’t want to loosen up on these rules anyway.
This kind of place is just where having tens or hundreds of thousands of people demonstrating and refusing to comply all over a state will have an effect. You don’t need it in a truly conservative state, and it will do no good in a genuinely liberal or leftist state. Just like elections, they are generally not decided by partisans on either side, but by 20% or 40% in the middle.
If you want to wear a dust mask (that doesn’t work against known viruses) go ahead, nobody is stopping you.
Let’s not screw everything up permanently because some segments of society are unable to process reality in any meaningful sense.
