Mad skills!
RCMP spoil sports.
Makes sense.
Just because you can operate an aircraft (or do anything) doesn’t mean you always should. He probably thought others would think it was cool because he thought it was cool.
Kris Kristofferson would have never met Johnny Cash if the Nannys were around back then.
I can sympathize. When I need a Dairy Queen soft serve vanilla with chocolate coating, I need a Dairy Queen soft serve vanilla with chocolate coating and nothing will stop me.
Love it!
Hig traffic parking lot
It,looks virtually empty, seems like he picked the spot because it was big and empty
Not saying hes right but given hardly anything is around him and hes in the midle of an empty lot, its a good choice
He didnt just set down right next to the DQ buidling itself and try window service...
Harrd to tell, but it’s either an R-22 or R-44. I flew an R-22 twice, with an instructor, of course. Already had my fix’d wng lic. Helios are a different animal, entttirely. But in many places (here in the US), you can land them off-airport, so long as you’re such and such a distance from whatever — don’t remember what the FARs say exactly.
Hey, it’s not like the guy hovered thru the drive through window.
But it's ok for 80,000 illegals in the LA area to fire up their leaf blowers, blowing street debris and who knows what into the atmosphere on a daily basis.
Well, given that they arrested a ‘covid quarrantined’ woman a month or so ago for having a package of cigarettes delivered to her motel room by a toy sized drone, I guess this makes sense.
Agree. I had to zoom in 20 times before I actually could see where the helicopter was. If that’s 5pm and considered busy it must be a pretty small town. The way the article framed it was like the helicopter pilot landed on a 8 lane highway to get a sugar fix, putting drivers and children (don’t forget the childrennnnnn) at risk with kicking up dust near the school facility.
I think it is kinda clever of him and I wish I had done it (and been able to do it).
Sometimes you just need ice cream cake, amirite?
Can’t have no fun any more!
Back in the 80’s, we’d often “pit-stop” at the Beacon Drive-In in Spartanburg, SC for a bite. Owner had a heli-pad across the street that easily accommodated our Army H-60. Approved, no hassles, and never messed up anything with rotor wash.
Would definitely be court-martialed and stripped of our wings these days for a fraction of what we did back then.
...Limited only by airspeed and imagination......and, of course, chapter 5.
Good times!
