In this case, the Norton Subscription Has Expired email contains a reminder that the Norton 360 Total Protection subscription is about to expire, which the scammers try to pass off as legitimate. Scammers trick users into renewing their subscriptions by clicking on the “Renew NOW” link in this email. The scam email also says that recipients need to renew their subscriptions as soon as possible, because after the subscription expires, the computer will be vulnerable to viruses. Scammers claim that today there is a 50% discount on renewals.

I had this in my email this morning!!!

Previously had a bad experience with a McAfee scam. Had to change my bank accounts - get a new computer without a McAfee download.

There are some very sophisticated criminals out there!!

Being an old woman is getting tough.

I lost count of how many arrest warrants the Federal Reserve has issued against me. Funny how the rulers of our banks need me to pay my bail with a gift card to avoid arrest.

Yeah, Sally from Pakistan really needs a gift card to Amazon music to pay for your fines.

Haven’t owned a car in over five years.

I ignore those since I don’t use ANYTHING Norton, ever. If it comes on any of my devices, I remove it. Why? Personal Techie reasons.

Well in the case of Norton Products, open your software, it will gladly tell you how much time you actually have left (and give you offers).

Don’t trust the e-mail. If you are running Norton, just click on their desktop/phone icon. If it is truly time to renew the website will tell you so.

Same with any app, really.

In 2014 I bought a copy of Corel’s photo editor that I used every so often.

For the past few months, it hadn’t been used at all until a couple of days ago. I did some routine minor editing. Yesterday I closed it out and got a popup saying I was running illegal software.

I contacted support. They say the error should go away in a day or two. It isn’t that important. They had a special and I upgraded.

For at least a few years I forgot I had a copy of Adobe Lightroom installed.
