Makes sense. “Breakthrough” cases are going to mostly be in people with a weak immune system, and once one is significantly ill with COVID, the progression past that may be helped by the vaccine, but co-morbidities can still kick in, and then we are talking about people likely less healthy / less able to fight off complications to begin with.
OTOH, people like Scott Gottlieb think the case numbers are way off, so, who knows. But, even then, the numbers of documented breakthrough cases are still exceedingly small.
What IS certain is that unvaccinated Covid cases are doing by far most of the dying. Every health pro I have feedback from is seeing that on their local level(s).
