Well for the canadian angle, I thought it was the Dairy Queen I grew up with in Vancouver that’s been around since the 90’s. Still there. and for Freepers who want to visualize Port Alberni, it’s like a sleepy fishing town where there’s nothing to do but get drunk or high so I totally get the dude’s frustration lol
Looking at satellite pictures of that town, it looks like there’s a lot of logging and lumber and paper mills.

A Walmart and a couple of chain restaurants and your usual small town businesses
No doubt they are a hard working and hard playing bunch
