Tesla has found a loophole to get around New Mexico’s ban on direct car sales by launching their first store and service center on tribal land.

This week, the automaker managed to open its first store and service center inside an old casino north of Santa Fe, and they did it by partnering with the first nation of Nambé Pueblo and opening the location on their tribal land:

If The Indians would only realize what they have they would be rich. Not just casino money either.

They are effectively THEIR OWN COUNTRY within our country.

But government handouts kept them poor.

Don’t you have to prove that you paid sales tax in order to get a state-issued license plate?

The same doctors working in the city could work for a medical tourism resort on tribal lands.

Yeah, but it would be seen (correctly) as an end-run around Obamacare - so Democrat operatives would scream bloody murder at their wholly-owned tribal token office-holders until they made it stop.

If tribal leaders ever stop being satisfied with Democrat handouts and decide to go their own way, it could result in an earthquake in American politics.

There should be a NM tax due when you import and register the car for use in NM.

Competition sucks hey Government, LOL

The fact that states require car manufactures to sell through dealers makes no sense and stinks of corruption.

“The fact that states require car manufactures to sell through dealers makes no sense and stinks of corruption.”

Yep. Car dealer owners tend to be a conservative lot, so even Republicans when in power keep these laws protecting them from competition.

since these autos aren’t being sold in the U.S., then their owners shouldn’t be eligible for any state or federal kickbacks ...
