Back when Austin was fun....I mean it still is but it’s a city now and traffic and of course the core of leftists that make so much more racket than normal folks ...many of whom still live in and around Austin
I’m a Jackson Miss native....
When folks my generation left ....a handful ...mid to late 70s still went to San Fran
Some to NYC ...a lot to regional cities like Dallas or Memphis or Atlanta or NOLA
but the cowboy hippies went to Austin...now they are old like me and live out side of Austin in rural ranch land in the Hill country
They chose well in my opinion
I am in Nashville area now and frankly I like Austin better except for seasonal change
Nashville has a glorious fall...less hit summer and on occasion a real winter
Yes, like around 1974 - 80. Before dell took over Round Rock. Back when one could put the Boat in Lake Travis and have room to ski or just cruise around and not be playing bumper boats.
