Francis spent just seven hours in Budapest before arriving Sunday afternoon in neighboring Slovakia to start a four-day tour. The lopsided itinerary suggested that Francis wanted to avoid giving Orbán — the type of populist nationalist he frequently criticizes — the political boost that comes with hosting a pope for a proper state visit ahead of elections in Hungary next spring.
Francis did meet upon arrival with Orbán, whose refugee policies clash with the pope’s call to welcome and integrate those seeking better lives in Europe. After the meeting, Orbán wrote on Facebook: “I asked Pope Francis not to let Christian Hungary perish.”
Orbán has frequently depicted his government as a defender of Christian civilization in Europe and a bulwark against migration from Muslim-majority countries. In 2015, he rejected proposals to settle refugees from the Mideast and Africa in Hungary and erected a fence along Hungary’s southern border to keep out asylum-seekers trying to enter the European Union. …

The Popes message should affirm our Christian faith. All are welcome to come to know Christ. As the Vicor of St. Peter and leader of the Holy Roman Church he needs to affirm the faith and not that all religions lead people to God. All religions do not do this. Jesus is the way and the truth and the life. Salvation for mankind comes through Jesus alone and His sacrifice on the cross. Muslims flee countries putting people to the sword. They flee ignorant people that force their antichrist faith by the sword and the gun and bullets. The Taliban are a good example of islam with every savage with a gun walking around as judge jury and executioner in obedience to a false religion. These illiterate savages have never read the Koran they follow ignorantly and force sharia law by the carrying of weapons to inflict pain and not love. Christian nations have the right to uphold their sovereignty and protect their people from ignorance. A Pope that visits a country should not preach inclusion but a message of love by following the Gospel of Christ. Just like St. Paul when he visited other countries and St. Peter when he went o preach in Rome. The Romans followed their false gods and like islam the romans had a blnd obedience to Cesar and the state they enforce by the sword and slaughtered Christians until Rome itself after enough martyred blood overcame the roman state and came to know Jesus. Tehran and Suadi Arabia and many islamic states don’t allow the word of God and if you are caught with a Bible are put to death or imprisoned. As the leader of the Catholic Church the Pope needs to lead with conviction and strength and show the world his conviction by affirming our faith in Jesus and not a blind obedience to a world view of inclusivity with no conviction.
