Speculation such as “is poised to acquire” is not a “study”, it’s an opinion.
I agree its an opinion.
But sadly it is inevitable. it is simply a numbers game at this point. Mutations happen every time the virus replicates.
Everything being described in the article was common knowledge that folks conveniently “forgot.”
So if I had Pfizer vaccine, I can still catch Covid, but then I will be super resistant?
Your saying it's their hypothesis (i.e. speculation). But it's not. It's their theory, based on the outcome(s) they observed while doing their study in the lab.
What they are saying is, if a 4th mutation occurs "naturally," then the Delta variant will be "poised" (though not 100% guaranteed) to acquire complete resistance to the mRNA vaccines (like what happened in their study done in the lab).
That word, "poised" is key. It's a warning by actual scientists of what may/likely to occur should a 4th mutation happen with the Delta variant.
