New police body camera footage of the August 12 traffic stop of Brian Laundrie and Gabby Petito shows a sobbing Petito telling an officer her boyfriend hit her “but I hit him first.”
At least two witnesses called 911 that day, reporting that they’d seen what might be a domestic violence situation between Laundrie and Petito in Moab, Utah.
When police later located their van and pulled them over, Petito told officers she was anxious and Laundrie was frustrated with her.
“Did he hit you though?” the officer asks in the new footage. “We want to know the truth, if he actually hit you, because, you know –”
“I guess, yeah, but I hit him first,” Petito replies.
“RP (reporting party) states seeing a male hit a female, domestic,” the dispatcher said, according to audio released earlier this month, as CrimeOnline reported. “He got into a white Ford Transit van, has a black ladder on the back, Florida plate.”
Later in the hour-long video, the officer explains to Petito, sitting in the back of his patrol vehicle, that no witness described seeing Laundrie hit her, only “shoving that sounds like it was consistent with trying to prevent you from entering the van.”
The officer identifies Petito as the “primary aggressor” and explains that if they determine that the incident does reach the level of domestic violence, the primary aggressor will go to jail. The unidentified officer further tells Petito that they’re contacting a victim’s advocate organization to get Laundrie a hotel room for the night, because “they won’t put you up in a hotel because you’re the primary aggressor.”

They are not mind readers and if you watch the video, it appears that it's just a minor incident.
imho, I believe a fight escalated and it was an accident that Gabby was killed. iow, no pre-meditation just the sad results of two immature people fighting and one losing control.
The last time that Gabby was seen alive was August 27th when Laundrie argued with restaurant staff and returned 4 more times to argue more. She was crying and apologized to the staff. It sounds more like Laundrie had anger issues and Gabby paid the price.
They got the autopsy results, they combed through all the evidence, they know a lot more that is being released to the public. You don’t spend millions on a massive manhunt for credit card fraud.
The only reason Brian hasn’t been named as a suspect in her death is to give him the chance to “do the right thing, we just want to talk to you, you can help yourself by turning yourself in”.
And to maybe keep him from suiciding, of course.
There’s where the cops screwed up - they let them drive off after the scene with gabby..........she was obviously scared sh*tless of him throughout talking to them and they still let them go off,,,,,’without having to actually charge anyone.’
There will likely be a suit over this!

Since she confessed to hitting him first the cops only legitimate option would have been to arrest her.
It seems unlikely that this was their first argument and isn’t it well known serial abused victim behavior to make excuses for the abuser (partly out of co-dependence and partly out of fear of worse abuse to follow)?
Also we don’t know what stage things were at during that Moab argument concerning any encounters they may have had with the eventually murdered lesbian couple. My hunch is that the fighting in Moab had something to do with their previous night’s camping experience and it wasn’t a good one.
From what I can figure out from the time line, those two women were still alive at the time of this argument and the videotaping, and could have died that night or the next one.
Anyway, it’s pretty clear that a murder took place within about a week to ten days as they went up to Wyoming. You have to wonder what they were arguing about all that time.
While I agree that if Laundrie did indeed murder Gabby it was not pre-meditated but I do think that Laundrie was definitely pre-disposed to murdering her, eventually. Mounting evidence seems to bear that out.
Well at least she'd still be alive in all likelihood.

Agree, and she was protecting him. I prefer the police NOT try to guess at the future and jail every guy who has an argument with a babe...as that would likely be many of here.

I watched ALL of BOTH videos. Nothing in the second video, which had some overlapping, changed my previous opinion.
Not excusing him, if he killed her, but I can see that she could drive someone CRAZY!
I can understand (NOT EXCUSE) becoming so frustrated by her, maybe even being attacked by her, that he could have in a moment of anger/frustration, picked up a rock (there were THOUSANDS of rocks there on the ground) and hit her in the head with one.
BUT, then again, he could just be a serial killer.
Autopsies and DNA will tell the tales.
She was very very weak in stating that point - hardly in a safe place with him still intimidating looking at her from a sistance as she spoke! They should have BOTH been taken in - there was more than ONE REPORT at the point and she was threaten and still not safe in this interview as to what was coming next! She could see him BULLSHITTING the other cops out of the corner of her eyes as she spoke and knew he would win and when she was alone with him again she WOULD PAY A PRICE - maybe she didn’t figure on death BUT that is what she got! PARENTS - THESE OFFICERS WEREN’T TRAINED FOR THIS KIND OF DEAL AND IT NOW SHOWS SO TRAGICALLY! WE IS A BULLSHIT ARTIST - SHOULD BE IN GOVT AS US SENATOR, US HSE REP or CEO!
Didn’t the police take him to a hotel?. I did not think They drove off and stay together that night.
Maybe...not following any more - with the usa this is a small thing however tragic - people are so lame to fall in with such lying POS and still stay with them till they kill them - maybe DOG can do the same for him - kill him! His family seem like bleeding heart libs and gave been helping him all the while MHO!
