Unthinkable? I think about it every day.
We need to stop viewing the Democrat states as organic entities and instead start viewing the map of the USA as loyal American counties surrounding islands of anti-American urban centers.
Any split that takes place should not include the loyal portions of any traitor states.

The states that allow fraudulent elections will be on their own. The clean states will have their own foreign policy, intelligence agencies, tax collection and currency. They don’t have to be contiguous.
The problem is that the Federal government is violating the sovereignty of the states and the people

From what I gather, the middle is mostly red, both coasts blue and a few of each scattered here and there. It’s not north/south any more. From what I looked at just now, we’d end up with a good sized halfway normal country squoze between two liberal hell holes...

There problem not mentioned is that apart from some solid blue urban areas on either coast, most counties in the country are red. How could a blue state succeed if almost all of its geographical area is red?
Rather than split the United States, a better goal would be to advocate and work toward the goal of Demonicrat judges, politicians and their supporters being tried, convicted, and sentenced to be publicly hanged for murder, crimes against humanity, and giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
Yes, there would be new Democrat Senators from the city-states...but also new Republican Senators from California, Oregon, Washington, Illinois etc.
This is the least disruptive solution. Actual secession of states will lead directly to Yugoslavia.
Why is it unthinkable? The other options are civil war and genocide.
I say we give them Cuba, Haiti, and Porta Rico and they can negotiate for themselves over Afghanistan and Venezuela. But they must relocate and officially denounce citizenship.

I think inflation and the aggressive climate change policies will accelerate the urge to separate.
It will be messy, but there is no one around like Lincoln who will go to any length to keep the Union together. It will happen without a shot being fired. It may not happen in my lifetime- I'm 60- but it will likely happen to my children or grandchildren.
The generation that will destroy the USA as we know it is here. Fortunately, the generation who will rebuild a new, free nation is also here. We are in a time where there are sinister, destructive people who seek to control the people; but also a time where there is a great love for the Constitution and the freedoms it is supposed to protect.
I’ve been saying it for a few decades now, and I’ve commented about that for many years, right here on FR.
When there is a deep divide amongst a countries citizens, and the divide seems irreparable, then, it’s time to go our separate ways.
We just need the message about separation to become very widely known, and perhaps then, we can either do something about separating or fixing the deep divide. I’m pretty sure that the communists/socialists/progressives/liberals/democrats, won’t want to fix anything and I’m pretty sure that they want to fundamentally change the country into what is unsustainable.
Time to split!!!
It should NOT be split by states, but rather by counties.
