Justin Bieber seems to have gotten tricked online, as he’s been heckling a deepfake of Tom Cruise as though he were interacting with the real actor.
Unless he’s pulling a prank of his own, Bieber seems to have fallen for the trickery of “DeepTomCruise,” a TikTok account that posts videos of a convincing deepfake version of Tom Cruise, the Daily Dot noticed. Bieber shared a video of the deepfake playing guitar to his Instagram story but tagged the real Tom Cruise in which he complimented the actor’s musical prowess then challenged him to a fight. It’s a bizarre, comical mistake, but it also hints at how easy it is for synthesized media to trick people who aren’t looking out for it.

Too unworthy of a post.
Misleading headline. Bieber made a lighthearted joke about fighting, then complimented his guitar playing before realizing it was fake and laughing at his own mistake.
I’m not a fan of his music but the kid has cleaned up his act.
Unreal?
If I had Justin’s fame and money at the same age, I would have OD’d with 87 illegitimate children. He’s almost completely stayed out of trouble.
Wait a minute....
I owe my life to Justin Bieber
A few years back I was inna terrible car accident and ended up in a coma.
The nurse turned on the radio and Justin Bieber was singing so, I got up and turned it off...
OMG
LOL!
Well, it does look exactly like him... 20 yrs ago.
Very very good one and I’m going to use that, sir.
That really does look like a younger tom cruise..except for the two front teeth. Cant remember what he has that causes it
I recently watched all the mission impossible movies. His stunts cause a physical reaction in me. Hard to believe he really does them. In the one where he jumps out a window of that high rise some of the crew didnt even want to be in the room. Maybe afraid of getting sucked out
As far as whether Bieber has been fooled or not, or whatever... “There’s no such thing as bad publicity”.
Wouldn’t surprise me for a moment if his PR person cooked it up for him to do.
The one on the Burj Khalifa?
Paula Patton and Lea Seydoux movie?
Cant remember. Seems likely. I was watching the setup they went through in his last movie for the ending cliff scene. Kind of suprised it handled all of that weight. Everything had to be helicoptered..the one i probably reacted the most to was the rock climbing scene. It really made me cringe
Cruise has been money since Taps in ‘81.
Not sure what all this nonsense is about, but the DeepFake tech is going to be a serious problem! We have a sizable population who are uneducated or easily mislead and manipulated, including, SADLY, a decent amount of Freepers here. Until some high powered Lefty is framed, this crap will destroy people.
I heard insurance had to payout 70 million when he broke his ankle but didnt check to see if true.
He is a nut case and probably hard to deal with but props to him for the stunts he does
lol
I watched all but the middle 2 about a week ago, great movies. Sometimes I just don’t care much for 2 and 3.
The stunts are just crazy, and from what I’ve heard, he does all his own stunts.
Doing the one where he walked up the side of a high rise (Dubai I think) and jumped back into the window, (Rogue Nation?) he hurt his leg doing that one.
He’s done some insane stuff. Hanging onto the side of an airplane when it takes off, the rock climbing thing, stood a motorcycle on its front wheel, the high speed train/helicopter sequence in the 1st movie...
Also just watched Minority Report a few nights ago, another good one with some pretty good stunt work.
Never watched any of his earlier stuff, Top Gun and all, but I have all 6 Mission Impossible, Minority Report, Collateral and a while back had the one with Nicholson with Cruise as a marine lawyer. Officer and A Gentleman? Can’t remember. Good movie though.
Bruce Willis fan too...but that’s another story.
Most people don’t realize you have to stay in really good shape to do that kind of thing, and do LOTS of training too. I read a while back that Cruise is obsessed with body buidling, working out, jogging etc, but not to build muscle like Schwartzenegger did as a young guy. He does what a good friend does, I’ve known this guy for 30 years, and unless he’s in the hospital he works out every monday, wednesday ad friday and marks each off on a calendar. He has every calendarfor the past 30 years plus. I’ve looked at several.
But it’s not to build muscle, it’s to stay in shape. You wouldn’t know it to look at him, but he’s 66 years old and can run 2 or 3 miles or more with no problem. Jogs on a treadmill every workout for 15 minutes. When he had an operation on his neck, doctor told him no workout, he walked several miles every day and did pushups against a wall, standing. No stress, but still found a way to work out. I think he said at least a 5 mile walk every day, maybe 10. At 65 years old and recuperating from neck surgery. Didn’t even wait a week...2 or 3 days at home and he started.
From what I read, that’s the kind of thing Cruise does. I have to believe it, he couldn’t be over 50 years old and still doing the stunts he does unless he did stay in excellent shape. Watch the rooftop running sequence in “Fallout”...lots of guys under 30 couldn’t keep up with him. I couldn’t when I was 30...not a chance.
