Some people are not persistant. They trust the Dr. Those people would have ended up with a lot of damage once the damage finally showed up in a basic test.

A long time ago when I still had cable there was a show called "Medical Mysteries" or some such. It detailed the lives of people who went for years, from one doctor to another until they finally found a competent doctor able to diagnose their problem.

Quite often the diagnosis eventually uncovered was a relatively common problem like a tumor or cancer.

I had a friend who was fed painkillers for months by a doctor before he finally got a second opinion and found out he had stage four cancer. The original doctor had never done any sort of scan, but just kept increasing the painkillers as the man's pain increased.

I advocate second opinions for everything.

Tom Hanks wife got a second opinion that showed she had breast cancer.

I still haven’t figured out how to get my hands on a sub- specialist when it comes to imagining reports within my network.

There are people who do it online but it is something I am definitely pursuing.

I had one surgeon who was looking at a CT scan that said it looks fine....and I said...BUT the report says ....

and he said...well they are looking at it with better graphics.

A pox on all the incompetent doctors.
