“It’s a shame that most everything good from our youth is going to h*ll...”


I’m not sure, but I think the world of comic books today is completely different from when I was a lad. They were for kids, boys mostly, cost a dime or later 12¢ and you could find them at any drug store. They were read, traded with friends etc. They were a part of everyday life.

I think today they are mainly aimed at young ‘adults’, aren’t cheap by any means and are kind of a niche item.

Halloween has undergone a similar change over the decades.

Probably 25-30% of the “kids” who come to our door on Halloween are teens between 14 and 18 years old and don’t even bother with costume or mask or anything...And most are minorities.....
