There's so much that SHOULD be studied and isn't during this pandemic, it's a freakin' joke.

They talk about comorbidities like high blood pressure, but then can't answer if it's also a problem when controlled.

As far as masks go, IF the virus is only in droplets, then fine, but is it, or can it be exhaled just in air? If so, then masks are like trying to stop a fly with a chain link fence. Once again, did anyone study it? And why the hell not after over a year and a half

It has been known for two years and more that masks are largely ineffective against viruses.
My own box of N95 masks says so.
The only thing masks protects against are dirty looks, from various "Karens".

There might be some benefit, some scientific insight, to be gained by performing the experiment you propose - but I'm not a scientist. So you tell me: For what purpose would you like to see such an investigation performed? What, exactly, is it that you want to prove (or disprove)?

You are saying that they should test the masks of people suspected of covid?

Well, if we are dealing with a normal virus it does not survive outside of a host, sunlight and air kill it within a couple of minutes. So there would be some question about how much survives unless the the mask was just in use and even then....

I think that if you swab the back of the throat it would be a bettter way to do this and I think they are starting to do this.

This only works if you have a reliable test, which at least the major tests reliably produces false positives. (PCR I think?)

If you are going to do this they should test an unused mask as a control and then test one of the covid target person's used masks.

Masks are useless. They help if someone coughs or sneezes. But the particles are so small they go right through the mask. Washing your hands and not touching your face are the absolute way to stay healthy. Spend one day just paying attention to what you touch. You will be amazed at the surfaces. Then if you pick out a French fry or light a cigarette or pick your nose, you take that chance of getting sick.

Masks do not block viruses. Viruses are 1,000 times smaller then the weave of face masks.
