I was taught by my friend Who taught me about firearms that you never point a weapon at anything you don’t want to destroy. It doesn’t matter if you think it’s unloaded.
Exactly- because there are no do-overs in life- Yuo can’t respawn to try again— folks today play video games where they get multiple lives if they mess up in the game- multiple chances- real life aint like that
I see so many movies where the ones holding the guns swing them round, carelessly pointing them at other actors- or their own faces, or hand the gun to someone barrel first- sure, they are prop guns, but the point is that people watch movies like this and don’t realize that you never point guns at anyone- accidents are forever in some cases-
I’ve seen hunters walking along holding their rifle across their chest (because it’s easier to walk long distances like that- the gun gets heavy after awhile) and their buddy is walking beside them and the gun is pointed right at the buddy- It’s unreal- even hunters sometimes don’t realize- and some folks much with their triggers to make them more sensitive- less hard to pull- for accuracy reasons, and these guns have hair triggers- The trigger can even snag on a crumpled part of coat as the gun moves while walking, or catch o n a twig walking through brush, or fall and go off etc—and off it goes-
We were always taught to ALWAYS consider a gun to be loaded, EVEN IF you think it’s not- too many people have together they put away their gun unloaded and ‘safe’ but found out the hard way that they didn’t- or that someone else used the gun without them knowing it- and left it loaded-
...and never let anyone point a firearm at you!
Every weapon should be recognized and treated as if it were loaded.
