Joe did a pantyhose commercial and there was a bruhaha because it was “false advertising” as he didn’t use the product.
He actually did for cold weather games. lighter than long johns.

True, Namath did wear the pantyhose in cold weather games.
I tried it once. I went cold-weather camping wearing my wife's pantyhose. My legs did stay warm but sitting by the campfire, they were itching up a storm. So it was back to long underwear after that.
