So true, Canadians, Monday’s, or Amish have all be used in the service industry to avoid the HR types. HR where people go to “work” because they’re not qualified to do anything else. In 20+ years of corporate dealings single handedly the most worthless humans on the planet have been the mouth breathers in HR departments.

I worked for GTE 1987 - 1999, when my division was sold to General Dynamics. With GTE, they actually meant it when the said the employee came first. One of the last of the old-time corporations. They had never laid anyone off until the Cold War ended and the defense industry took a huge hit in 1994.

GTE HR people could hardly do enough for employees. General Dynamics turfed out most of the HR department, and those that were left existed to protect the Corp. from employees.

I worked, in the same division, for GD until 2012. I had two dealings with HR, and each time the first thing HR asked me to do was sign an agreement that I would not sue the company. Such agreements were legally unenforceable, but they used them to intimidate the gullible.
