To: Big Brother Go to Hell

When James Joyce wrote Ulysses he intentionally did not capitalize the word jew. Of course he was making the opposite point to express how the main character Leopold Bloom was treated and how he felt being a jew in Ireland during the pre-war era.

I’ll bet you that is not how the Jews of his day first interpreted the lowercase ‘j’.
I get his point, assuming an ‘ee cummings sort of humilty / modesty.
