True, but North-South is the same no matter which timeframe is being used.

East-West is what marks time.

I know Arizona doesn't do the time change but they are hot and sunny almost all year round so what do they care about the extra hour to grill a steak and have a beer?

Arizona (even the desert part) isn’t hot “almost all year round”. In fact, right now and until next April, it is absolutely gorgeous here and we can go out and have a beer and grill a steak any time. This doesn’t even include the large area of high country that has fall colors and snowy winters. Come and visit sometime.

Jet lag city.

Split the difference and call it even.

I’m sick of being wasted for two weeks twice a year.

Nope. It’s obviously midafternoon here at the moment, and I don’t want the clock telling me it’s late evening.

East-West is what marks time.

North-South determines how much daylight you have each day, and the further north you live, the more pronounced the effect is.

Where I live, the children walk to school in the dark already. I'm talking elementary school children.

The one nice place NOT to have it is AZ.
In the summer, we like it as dark as possible.
I start work at 5am and once you get used to it, it feels normal.

Do heart attacks, strokes, and automobile accidents in the week after a time change?

Gaining an hour isn’t so bad but, wow!, it takes me a couple weeks to get acclimated to the loss of an hour.

Yes! The loss of an hour takes me a full week or two to recalibrate.

Is individual ‘schedule adjustment’, or, ‘group’ schedule adjustment (like a school district or business) BEYOND your average Californian?

ASKING for a friend ...

But a broken clock will always be right twice a day, no matter if it’s CST or DST.

re: “I work from home. It doesn’t really matter to me when the sun comes up or goes down “

Pet Green Cheek Conure (a bird) cares - only about WHEN the sun comes up!

Hell, I might come and live there sometime.

I've always liked the Southwest.

I rejoice when we return to standard time.

Me too. I can't stand getting up in the dark. Worse, getting up in the dark and having it stay dark for an hour or more. Depressing as heck. I don't care how dark it is when I get home, I care about the sun helping me get out of bed and start my day. Everything else is a piece of cake from there.

The cat’s feeding schedule is disrupted by the time change. It’s a crisis to him.

They should just rename it Daylight Racist Time, or Racist Savings Time. Then everybody will be happy.

Sunrise was 8:07 AM this morning. It would be after 9 AM in December without switching to standard time. I like the 9:13 PM sunset in June.
