but NASA pays Aeronautical Engineers in Texas $109k. That’s plenty for cost of living in Texas. Computer Engineers get $95k. QA Engineers $96k. Software Engineers get $60k, Sorry, but the part about Software Engineers making so much less doesn't really pass the smell test.

Glut of CS degrees. EEs and such are in much lower supply. Everyone you can imagine went into computer science in the 90s/2000s. Seriously. Where I live CSes are a dime a dozen.
