We have people that are doing this – are breaking into cars in Nob Hill, then they go down to Fisherman’s Wharf, then they come out here. Then they go to another part of the city and the police can’t chase the cars, it’s considered a misdemeanor,” said Alan Byard, a San Francisco Patrol Special Police Officer.
As a patrol special officer, Byard is part of a neighborhood police force authorized in San Francisco’s city charter. He patrols the Marina, where he has 172 residential clients. He added 20 just in the last month. He said the number one problem is car burglaries.
“I come out here every night and I see new piles of glass,” said Byard.

I feel very sorry for the small handful of conservatives stuck there for whatever reason, hopefully temporarily.
CBS is breathlessly reporting on a crime wave that they helped create. They will sell ads to pay for the coverage. They figure people will have to replace all the stolen stuff. We should watch the commercials. Maybe SafeLight Auto Glass, AAA, tow services and body shops are the new advertisers.

San Franciscans voted for all this. It’s kinda like a guy who orders a pizza, then is surprised to see a pizza delivery person at his front door.
Decades ago National Review article was by someone in NY who noticed little blue sparkling pieces of glass at the curb as he got his car on his city street. Then another day some more. Then his car was broken into and stolen. The glass was from the broken window.
He found out people all up and down the street had learned to live with daily car breakins and often stolen cars, and turning the cases over to their insurance agents and just going on with their lives. Just living with it.
56,000 people in SF voted for Trump in 2020. Not sure why they’re still there.
That’s what SF voted for.

Add to that, most California cities are seeing over 250 car thefts a month.

My Washington state county of about 70000+ had 25 car thefts in one week and 500 through October.
It is a very liberal county (Olympia is the major city)
Not too good for either tourism or insurance rates.

Shooting someone for breaking into your property is 100% self defense in my opinion.
Shooting someone for breaking into someone else’s property is defending another persons life.
And those are just the ones reported. Most no longer report break ins.
Were there any arrests for these 3000 break ins. Silly question.
In most blue states government doesn’t see it that way sadly.
