It's the streaming services. Streaming has revolutionized the industry and made traditional movie-watching obsolete.

There are a lot of good movies out there - on free sites such as Tubi and Popcorn Flix.

Agreed. A lot of the movies on Tubi are fairly current.

And the two pay services that we are currently using, Netflix and HBOmax, are not the greatest. We extended HBOmax another month so that we could watch the the new Matrix movie, terrible by the way, and we are watching Netflix since we are binging the Breaking Bad TV series. We will be canceling HBOmax after this month and then canceling Netflix when we have finished Breaking Bad. The problem? - no new movies, just garbage. Toss in the wokeness BS and add insult while we are watching garbage. No thank you.

The problem might be in part because there are no new ideas coming from Hollywood. Just retreads of old, now tired and worn out, plots and genres.
