Stillwater was an American band of the 1970s, which played Southern rock with a folk flair. Their song Mind Bender charted in the top 100 singles in 1978. Cameron Crowe, writer for Rolling Stone magazine, first heard Stillwater playing in Macon Georgia at Unlce Sams night club and Lakeside Park. He ended up using the name "Stillwater" for his fictional band in his movie "Almost Famous."
